If I'm reading corect it looks like it went north about 11 MIN. wich is about a tenth of a degree. Correct me if I'm wrong.

11 minutes is actually .18 degrees, almost 2 tenths, but regardless, it's gained over a degree of longitude west and nearly nothing north.

Anyone else going crazy waiting for the eclipse period to end? I'd really like to see where Ivan is. Anyone know a website where you can get a big map with lat/long coordinates, so I could see for myself where the hurricane is from the NHC status reports?

Thanks. You learn something everyday. Do you have a chart for that or do you figure in your head?

I recommend buying an HP 48GX to do this calculation...it will take it really far out to the 16th significant digit which helps to be really really precise while plotting on your paper with an unsharpened pencil

that last advisory was a complete guess...until the recon got there the NHC has been in the dark just like us since the eclipse...radar is down, recon was out, and sats had no juice.....so dont draw any conclusions between "last advisory and recon".

My head. It's simple. Remember 6 mins equals 1 tenth, since 60 mins equals 1 degree.

Therefore.........

.1 = 6 mins
.2 = 12 mins
.3 = 18 mins .......
.9 = 54 mins
.0 = 0/60 mins

It doesn't change the fact that within the last 7 hours the storm has moved .1N and 1.1W. It's becoming more than just a wobble. We shall see though.
