Whew, I have an incredible feeling of dejavu!

Friday the 13th lived up to it's name. It was definately unlucky. When the dust, trees, unidentifiable debris, lawn funiture, and enough roofing shingles to cover Texas had settled, my family and I emerged from our boarded up home to a vastly different world. Thankfully, we were fine, but roughed up a bit. After days of no power, gasoline, running water, or a warm shower, we seetled into a routine, and began to get life back to normal. All the while keeping up as best we could with the developments of Frances.

Fast forward a bit, and here we go again...... Frances, unlike Charley, stayed for what seemed like a month, and chewed up a bunch of what was left after Charley. Once again, no running water, power, or gasoline, but there were far less roofing shingles laying about since we had cleaned most of them up already, and no new roofs had been put on yet. Again, though, everyone was safe, and although dead tired, and a bit shell shocked, we plodded on. All the while keeping up as best we could with the developments of Ivan.

After careful consideration, we have all decided that hurricanes are the pits, and we want to stop the merry-go-round and get off. Sigh, enough is enough, and so help me, if I have to play another round of charades by candle light, I think I'll scream. It is time that someone cancelled hurricane season.

In all seriousness, my family and I made it through two now, with everyone safe, and I can only hope that everyone on the board that has been through them can say the same. I have to run now, I have a couple of trees, and a few sections of privacy fence still up that I need to knock down. There is no way I am going to give Ivan the satisfaction of finishing the job his two cousins started :D
