Many of us missed this due to power outages since last Saturday. So here is the rationing criteria announced by Gov. Jeb:

This could get real ugly with Ivan approaching...I've got a bad feeling about this for Floridians...

I agree, Sean, Gov. Jeb's action and comments have qualifiers that make me nervous. I know everything is stretched to the limit in the state, so an emergency order might be necessary to supply emergency workers. I can see how that could be abused, though, by the "who you know" factor. Let's hope not.

This is a crisis and obviously the leaders of the State are trying to keep order. I don't know what will happen if Ivan hits the State---this could get even worse.

Please don't confuse prudent prioritizing of the distribution of supplies with rationing. There will always be a priority for Emergency Personel including the Emergency responders (including politicians) and I think making sure the evacuation routes have gas is exactly what is needed.

Rationing in this instance (limiting the amount you could purchase at one fillup) would be counterproductive and I'm sure is NOT even being considered seriously.
