I watched a Mobile station at 6, they only plotted through 72 hours
and said everyone from LA eastward needs to watch Ivan.
I'll watch Bob Breck at 9 CT and see what he has to say.

We have a local guy here is pretty good...well IMHO he's really good. He developed a regional model for NC that has done remarkably well when TC get close. The model gets the ridge/troughs right most of the time. Right now, he ain't saying nothing......That in itself is interesting because at this point he will usually cut through the hype if a solution is evident. I see the same thing here i.e. our pro mets here.

The local station here in Biloxi does not seem to be very alarmed. Either they are downplaying the threat to the Central Gulf or they really believe the models. I for one am not TOO concern with that Ivan will make landfall but none the less I plan on keeping my car gassed up just in case. Has anyone else in AL/MS or LA made any kind of hurricane preparations???
