I hate TWC...

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Did you hear a few minutes earlier when they said they were "The Authority" on the tropics... I think some folks at the NHC would beg to differ.... Now that John Hope is gone...

That, and "Don't I look pretty as I stand in front of this major weather feature you're interested in? See how I have the on-air-meteor-head hand gestures down to a T? Listen as I demonstrate that I have no idea what isobars are!"

Blech.

I've had enough of my own Storm Stories of my own the last 3 weeks thanyouverymuch!

And I too hate TWC. They spend too much time on routine weather and they come on all chirpy and say stupid stuff like ".. and Illinois .. it looks like you're in for a beautiful day. I can almost smell the daffodils.."

Didn't Dr. Lyons go on record last night assuring everyone that it would go towards the Yucatan Peninsula?

Lyons is another joke. I stopped watching that channel when Hope died. He WAS the weather channel....and it died along with him.

Nerve opened, time to bump the post count...

Have they mentioned yet how the hurricane will impact Atlanta? Or, how it rained in Seattle yesterday and - fortunately - it did not affect Atlanta?

They should rename the channel TWCA. Kills me how several major hurricane events can occur, but they still find a way to get Atlanta into the discussion.

Okay, rant over. Thanks. That felt goooooood.

TWC has gotten away from weather the last few years. Compared to the way things were in early-mid 90's, it is embarrassing now. Do they even cover the weather on the weekends anymore? How about some more hour-long gardening features, TWC?

I wasn't aware of any statement by Lyons on a Yucatan landfall. Steve has a lot of knowledge and we shouldn't be so quick to put him down. On a funny note tonite, Vivian Brown mentioned his 20 years of experiance when she was introducing him which he replied, unfortanately it's be much longer than 20 years(poor old man)LOL

ROFLMAO!!!!!!In my house we were just talking abou this!!!! The only time it is even interesting is When Jim and Stephanie are out in the storm. I think TWC is taking the same "stupid" pill as my local weather guy. Here in MB we might get a "little" rain maybe by Wed. Maybe the same people who have our local guy in their pockets also have TWC.

I'll feel sorry for local residents. IF WHEN Ivan approaches, someone turns on TWC only to find another rerun of "Storm Stories" on.

Forget about TWC. They are nothing like they used to be. Just plain garbage now when it comes to the tropics.

Why yes! I find that leaving ferns scattered about the deck in lightweight planters that will do the Hustle in 155 mph winds provides quite the stress relief at landfall. No storm boredom here! Ah, the soothing sound of clods of dirt at Mach 3.

The Weather Channel has become the Meteorological version of elevator music.
