GAS AVAILABILITY -- URGENT
We in SW Florida are planning on leaving the area. Where are there gas stations open with power and gasoline? Please list here if you could all be so kind!
Thanks!

The I-95 corridor in florida is about "gas empty" I know my parents in Daytona havent been able to find a short gas line yet since Frances (when I say long I mean wrapped around the gas station a few times long). If they dont get some gas down to florida shortly, evacuations could be a huge problem.

Currently gas is available in Palm Beach County. You may want to go across the state and then use 195 or the turnpike. Most of the turnpike exits are required to have gas and are the first ones to get shipments. Off of turnpike exit 109, the mobil station does have gas. That is in Northern palm beach county.

Tracy,
There is plenty of gas in Ormond Beach. The SR 40 exit (old exit 88) never lost power even though many places including my business doesn't have power yet.
HINT: Drive off the interstate a bit and there are even more gas stations.
If you want, email me at Prez22@aol.com and I'll give you my cell and guide you to an open station..........

Folks I know you are well meaning with your advice but please think of the bigger picture. The correct question is there enough gas for several million people to all go at the same time? I would say no. THe state is short of fuel. I think the best advice would be to go a safe place but well within a tank of gas. I have taliked to 4 or 5 people today abouit Ivan and they are all going to leave. Not wise as it will pure bedlam on the roads. That is my two cents
