While it is premature THIS morning to suggest that Ivan is going to follow the 3-5 day projected path, there is more than enough nervous anticipation even among non-Floridians.
Over the course of the next 48 hours, that anticipation may indeed turn into plans, preparations, and actions on the part of Floridians (or others), and once again this board will become a conduit of information.
As one who will be roaming the boards this weekend from San Diego rather than Phoenix, I trust that everyone will do their part to make this a place where not only members can visit for updates, ideas, advice, and compassion, but so too can the media and others in official capacities.
I have heard much about the value of sites like Storm2k during the two recent hurricanes.
We need to keep our expectations high, our communications useful, and our compassion and understanding and patience at all time highs.
For those who want and need this place, it will then be a terrific source of help and encouragement. For those who want to ratchet up unwanted emotions, I encourage our moderators to act first and review the responses later.
Pride and commitment in Storm2k as a meaningful place to visit must take center stage.
