Poll: Best Frances coverage Palm Beaches & Treasure Coas

#1 Postby sprink52 » Wed Sep 08, 2004 9:02 pm

I have to go with Steve Weagle, Dean Tendritch & Rob Lopicola on Ch 5 West Palm Beach. Their pinpoint Dopler Radar was awesome! When the back side was comming thru Sun AM about 2 Steve Weagle was on the cross-hairs with the strong 100+ MPH band that came thru Loxahatchee, Wellington & Royal Palm Beach. Those guys are professional & cool all the way and as far as I'm concerned, the only game in town. They gave my wife & myself a large comfort level during Frances. Like Al Roker said "They have the correct tone". They don't scare you to death but give it to you truth, fact & real. 8-)

Channel 5 here.

I laugh(now) when watching the most serious part of the storm hit the studios. They were going along, lightly talking, then all of the sudden, got real quiet, and scared as the eye wall crossed into the area.

The radar was great. the VIPIR on the other channel didn't show as much detail as they did on NBC

Brian Norcross was the security blanket for many people during Andrew in '92. He is legendary & will always be a force in the Miami market. They even made a movie about him & Andrew.

Agreed. For starters, he had all those interviews with Max Mayfield where he would discuss up to the minute features that could be seen (eyewall trying to reform?)
