Ivan is about as symmetrical as a storm can be....
...looking at the latest 1:15 IR satelite loops.
He is WHACK horrific looking!
Some people are really going to take a whooping, upon landfall.

Change to data
Remove Georges 1998 from the data. He was a CAT 4 in the Eastern Carribean. Once he entered the GOM he never got above CAT 2 so
doesn't meet my criteria.

Ivan #8..Near Sarasota in 120hrs/115kts
http://www.nencweather.com/tropicalweat ... /ivan.html
Intensity remains shaky because I need to figure out how much time it will have over land first. I wasn't ready to make a landfall prediction tonight--I was thinking more of tomorrow, but I guess this track somewhat forces me to make one, bringing the center a few miles west of Sarasota in 120 hours. But note that the 120 hour point is somewhat arbitrary and a compromise, so I'm not actually expecting the storm to hit this point yet.
