Proximity to Land?

#1 Postby CAT5Tiger » Wed Sep 08, 2004 7:53 pm

Question - I seem to remember storms getting too close to South America and being "pulled" into land because of the circulation and frictional forces. Could it be that Ivan is just close enough to feel a tug to the south that the models would not factor in? This might explain the west motion continuing.

Also- Could it be that the models have been fed bad data just like what happened one night during Frances forecasts?

Seems like all the experts are baffled by the models turn. Joe B. doesn't buy it, Steve Lyons seems against it, etc.
