Intrigued About FSU Superensemble Projected Forecast

#1 Postby tropicstorm » Wed Sep 08, 2004 4:43 pm

What is the FSU "supermodel" track projection for Ivan? I thought I read a couple of days ago that they were favoring a more westerly GOM track. Are they still holding to this, as an outlier to the official NHC track? Also, if the FSU superensemble has been nailing eventual storm tracks, why isn't the NHC using it more as a primary model? This might be a good question for our new pro met miamiwxgal.

Again, sorry, but we can't share that information to the public. The NHC will mention it here and there, but they aren't allowed to let that information out either.

Hate to get invloved...but I will...

Seems the model is consistently either wide left or wide right.

Miami football fans will get the joke. FSU fans will too...but likely not be happy about it.

Jumping in here without a clue about what I am talking about other then what is seen in this thread....If the model Greeng13 is talking about is indeed classified..why would they classify a model?? just curious.

And since I really hold no stock in either team being from Chicago I'll help greeng13 out here..... (hate to see him suffering so! *hugs Greeng*)

lol pebbles

there are some models used by the govt that are not for public use (i.e. in my mind=classified)

****not conspiracy theory here****

just thinking that some of them are still in developmental stages, etc.

The FSU SE is actually one of the better long range models.

Hmm, the ability to move millions of people any direction you want equates to power, to me. Perhaps the "superensemble" is a board of directors for the oil, hotel, or plywood industries. I would keep that private too!
