It is either my eyes at the moment or I say there is not enough of an indication yet. It could be just a wobble.

Update: I maybe seeing something.

If you look away from the image, and use you peripheral vision, you can get a better sense of direction of the overall storm.

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT/watl-vis-loop.html

It's still moving the same direction as far as I can see. The colors in the other images produce optical illusions when trying to get a directional.

Kind of like if you draw a straight line, tangent to a circle, the line looks curved.

I'm just watching to see how close to the NHC track the system stays. Other than the stall, I thought the NHC was right on the money with Frances for a good while. And other than the last minute turn with Charley, I thought the NHC did an excellent job there, as well. We'll see how they fare with Ivan. I must admit, this year, I have a great deal of confidence in their forecasts and tracks.

What does the 'not in the eclipse' part of that comment refer to, please? Thanks. (Not familiar with the term.)

Basically what I mean is that there are no sat pics available right now. There is a period of time everyday, starting at 345Z that sat pics are not available from GOES.

The satellite is in an eclipse, as the earth is blocking the path from it's solar panels to the sun. It has to power down for a few hours during this, but it should be back up in the next hour or so. This only happens near the spring and fall equinox.
