I have to hand to the South Floridians, though. They've been able to maintain a good sense of humor and a positive attitude despite double hits and too much heat and humidity.

That being said, please no more for them!

I'll give the dissenting opinion. I have loved hurricanes since I was old enough to know what one was, and I love experiencing them. If I didn't have normal job related constraints, I'd go chase them. I can't use up all my vacation days chasing storms from Carolina to Texas, though.

You haven't been at work 24 hours a day since August 13th. You havent seen the roofs ripped off 100's of homes, or had your possessions destroyed. I work for the fire dept and I have seen people's lives destroyed. I, for one, have seen enough tragedy.

Hurricane Cleo made landfall north of Miami as a Category 2. (8 hours before landfall, Cleo began to quickly strengthen. Her sustained winds increased from 80 mph to 110 mph at landfall.)

Hurricane Dora took an unusual track into NE Florida and made landfall near Jacksonville as a Category 2.

Hurricane Isbell made landfall on the SW coast of Florida as a Category 2.

HWRF, GFDL, UKMET, NAVGEM (6:30-8:00 AM/PM, 12:30-2:00 AM/PM)
ECMWF (1:45 AM/PM)
TCVN is a weighted averaged
