We all know we came from storm2000. We saw that board killed by flaming and trolls. You all have done a great job preventing that from happening BUT lately you haven't. EVERYONE is entitled to an opinion here and rude, egotistical replies should not be tolerated. The range of experience on here runs from scared homeowner to tropical expert. I for one fall in the middle. Please please enforce your own policies and stop the flaming! I put up with people that post their own websites to give their opinion even though I think it's wrong but I've seen some real nasty replies on here and I'm wondering why you put up with it? Storm2k has become an institution and you have a lot to be proud of but don't let it go to your heads. Your only as good as the people that post to you. Freedom of speech is one thing personal attacks are another. Thanks for listening.

As we have stated numerous times in other threads, we can't police every thread. If you see something that needs our attention please PM an Admin or a moderator.

No one at S2K lets anything go to our head!

Linda is correct. Sometimes the mods and admins take care of things out of the blue. However, with such a large amount of members and high activity, especially with the tropics going nuts, it is impossible to catch every flame, put-down, or cuss word.

I have notified the admins and mods on a few items before, and trust me it was taken care of in a short amount of time. :)

We don't put up with it. We've dealt with a number of people for this and the go to your head comment is uncalled for. We bust our butts on here in and in the chatroom to try and keep this place the way it is intended just because we care! There's no pay involved. We can't possibly read every thread and we've asked numerous times to report posts in question to a moderator.
Anyway, I made a sticky about this before you made this post.

I think that you all do a great job. My fiance begs to differ. She is fed up with the season because I am hooked on this board!!! I am more of an observer than a poster because the latest info is here. The mudslinging is annoying, but whenever there are differing opinions, it is going to happen. Be it politics, sports, hurricanes..... it is a beautiful thing to see so many different walks of life share their opinions. For the most part, the members of this board are professional in their quandries....

Thanks again to all who make this possible and keep up the good work!

Also...much of the staff...including at times Marshall and now Chad have been without power. All at a time where there are a record number of folks posting. Rainband just came back yesterday. Heck...this post is starting to take over the weather ones as I write this.

Linda and Brian are right. They don't. It's just with so many people it can be hard to catch everything...I know if I ever saw anything out of line, and it hadn't been noticed, I'd be one to drop a friendly reminder, NOT just say something like you've done here! These people bust their backsides to make this place what it is!! Yeah I'm as tired of seeing the bashing as you are but if I see something I don't like, I just don't respond. It's THAT simple. BTW this is one of the RARE times I break that rule...to see friends stepped on and NOT do anything is not my thing.

It is the same as a misbehaving child... the negative posters want feedback, response and uproar. Just DON'T respond to them and they will get fed up and hopefully stop doing it if they get by the mods.

It's the old "bus stop bully rule".....

These posts are slightly uncalled for.

Storm2k has been and is a wonderful site. I've searched every post on the 1st page and have not found a single thing I find unacceptable.

The mods and admins here are great, helpful and knowledgable.

I don't understand what you've been seeing. I certainly have not seen what you have seen

Good, because I thought I might be the only one starting to get a chuckle out of this ;)

Well, report them please.

And Mike is correct...with some of our staff affected by Charley and Frances, it makes it that much harder to monitor all of the posts. We're doing our best and devoting a lot of our time to the board and chatroom but we're only human. Cooperation is good.

Sorry for the ignorance, but how do you report these things? I know that you stuck a thread about this, but it wouldn't hurt to reiterate this. I am fairly new here and would like to know how to help make this board better because I see myself checking in every day!

Thanks!

Sure, you do a good job moderating the boards and keeping the peace. But when do you plan to do something about the dust bunnies that have been gathering in the corners???
