NHC certainly left its options open on the 5pm advisory.......with 3 of the best models having it go to FL  ....I think they chose the other option just for the simple fact...its a week away and there really not sure where its going, and there really is no need to panic FL again...YET!!!!
So I think FL has as good a chance of a hit from Ivan as the rest of the gulf does :(

I don't recall the NHC EVER going one way or the other, relative to the models, on a regular basis.

I do, however, have seen them go on 1) Models 2) Climatology and 3) Their own personal experience and professional analysis of ALL data. I think the last item (3), gets them in trouble with the amateurs, that think they no better.

All in all, I commend them for efforts.

I hope the models flip away from Florida.

Never have I seen such a bullseye painted over Florida. Is there a presedent for a state being hit 3 times by a hurricane within 4-5 weeks???
