Hurricane Ivan is on its way and most Grenadians are prepared.
Hurricane Ivan will be the first major hurricane to strike the island since
Hurricane Janet in 1955. Today locals were found in the supermarkets and
shops stocking necessary items in preparation for the system.
Local business places boarded their exterior and staff were dismissed early
to facilitate their preparation.
The island is now in a state of wait and see. A few persons can still be
seen on the streets but most persons are at their homes.
We are praying that we will be able to weather the storm and safely see
another day. To all with relatives, friends and acquaintances here and the
region keep us in your prayers.

Still on a bee-line for Grenada. They will get some of the core and it will slow down as it passes.

Could be hinting at a pull up and hit of the tiny island of Carriacou, but looks like both islands will get strong core wall...

I guess they have no choice but to ride he storm out huh? How horrible! I really hope it misses them!

St. George's looks to be in the northeast quadrant by current track.

Maybe the shift to more NW track will spare them the NE quad, but still looks like a direct hit.

Direct hit for Grenada unavoidable now of intensifying 115mph hurricane.


Grenville in NE quadrant...

Eye dipped south at last second and went directly over the capitol St. George in the very late day...
