Trough?

#1 Postby lilbump3000 » Wed Sep 01, 2004 8:10 pm

Is there still suppose to be a trough coming and weaken the ridge that will allow frances to go more north?

Looking on the water vapor if the trough thats coming into the pacific northwest suppose to be the one, I just dont see that happening because on the water vapor that trough is not digging deep enough to turn frances more to the northwest less alone weaken the ridge.

Well that is not digging enough for that to even have an effect on frances less alone weaken the ridge.

Confused here....I've read where the trough would help turn this thing more north. Then, I read where the stronger the trough is, the stronger the ridge will become as a result, and possibly keep the cane on a WNW heading (read this on a NWS site). Is anybody right? Is anybody wrong? I guess the results may lay in the middle. The trough may strengthen the ridge, but the real key to the destination of Frances is timing of the trough. Anybody got a better answer?

I heard that trough is expected to have an influence, but not until around Sunday.
