Cat 4 Vs Cat 5 wind damage?

#1 Postby Stratosphere747 » Wed Sep 01, 2004 6:40 pm

Awhile back I read an amazing article explaing the damage of each...If I remember right it explained how much more damage is caused for every 5-10 mi after 100mph...And after 130mph for every 5mph the damage increased even more. I can only imagine what Frances would do if she hit as a Cat5, not that I am taking away what would happen as a Cat4.. Maybe someone remembers reading this article or maybe the experts can help...

Maybe this will help.

A cat 4 will destroy a mobile home.

A cat 5 will destroy a brick home.

Wind damage increases exponentially. Cat 4 -> Cat 5 (espically a strong cat 5) is a huge increase in damage.
