Up to you, but if it were me in a sturyy house (with shutters of course), I wouldn't leave.

I have no intention of evacuating from here. I'll probably go down to my parent's house in South Miami rather than stay in my condo in NMB, but even that is only if landfall looks to be quite close. I think Id be fine in my condo regardless, but I want to be there for the folks.

Hopefully this is all moot - not to wish disaster on my northern neighbors, but one Cat five in a lifetime was enough for me.

Throw everything you have in the fridge and freezer out (gonna loose power), get your mom and take a nice vacation to myrtle beach / the outer banks :)

Don't come back for a week.

Oh John! Didn't know your mom was in a nursing home...this has to be a rough situation on her stress wise too... Why don't you sit down and talk with her (or talk over the phone if that's easier) and decide together?

It's truly a shame there wasn't major ongoing environmental hostility w/ shear and dry air intrusion big time for storms w/ Charley and now Frances!

Sigh...let us pray and hope for a much quieter September after this latest 'cane...as August was incredibly WAY TOO busy!!
