The western part of the storm is collapsing a bit

Look at the latest infrared.

Is this part of eyewall replacement or could there be some easterly shear?

If I had to guess, I'd say eyewall replacement.

I was watching it about 3 am and it sure looked like it was starting to go through an eyewall replacement at that time.

I'm not a meteoroligist, I just play one in front of my tv.

It's an eyewall replacement. Once it is over, it will probably strengthen some.

Yeh the infrared makes it look like there are less cold cloudtops, but the visible shows that it is keeping its shape...so another eye wall replacement?

I'm definitely guessing, but the new eye looks to be about 40 miles wide

Certainly is an ERC, and with 145 mph winds look for a near Cat 5 when its done.
