Turn has commence

#1 Postby stormernie » Tue Aug 31, 2004 11:35 am

The turn to the wnw or even nw has commence, as I stated all along this Hurricane is not a FLorida hurricane, it's a Carolina Hurricane.

The models are now basically all in agreement of taking it up the coast to the Georgia Carolina area.

Umm...none of the 12Z models I see take her there. They are going towards northern Fl or GA, with some hinting further south. The last frame or two has had a slight wobble north, but you can't claim a turn has been made until it's consistent over an hour or two. The jog is towards the WNW not NW.

One hour doesn't make a trend. If she's still going WNW for the next six hours, that's a different story.

1 frame does not constitute a turn in fact 16:15 brings her back 280

I don't know how you can say Frances has started a N. turn.I just saw the last 5 frames on loop, and she may have wobbled slightly, but no clear sign of a turn N. She stratling the 20 N line

Don't be so hard on him. He lives Miami what do you expect? I'd be cheering for this thing to turn
north too if I lived there.

Large hurricanes almost always begin to stair step in this area sort of a zig zag. But, with that said it is usually followed by a turn. Too early to tell. I agree, all along I have said and I am sticking to Carolina impact. Cape Fear.

I am in Central Florida and still can't understand why that sudden jerk N is anticipated in the forecast..

I also still think this storm will eventually end up at my door. Not a wishcast.. Just a bad gut feeling..

Even a turn to the WNW doesn't necessarily help us here.. NW maybe, but who knows
