0Z ETA has Frances way south of Florida at 84 hours!!

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Not that this is a great model, but it has her staying south of Florida and heading into the GOM, crossing central Cuba!! THIS DOES HOWEVER HAVE THE LATEST GIV DATA IN IT!!

""Food for thought...this is the Eta, which is not the best of models to use, but this is the first model to have the new G-IV integrated into it....""

this was posted by the Panama City Met Jason Kelly on CFHC, so apparently it does

ETA is a terrible model with tropical systems. Wasn't even built to handle them. Pay closer attention to the european models, as they have a better track record.

I understand from some of the mets on this forum that the ETA is indeed pretty good with closer storms -- not to good at long range. So I would pay attention.

In fact, the ETA was mentioned by the NHC in its 11 p.m. discussion of Frances.
