I'm supposed to go out of town on business to help open up a new store in Savannah (I live in Charleston). I've got to leave Wed night for a 4 or 5 day run down there. Now my delima, how to prepare for a storm while you're away???
My area's already saturated. The biggest problem with Gaston was uprooted trees from the saturated ground. More rain, and the trees here won't take it.
When I go, I'm committed there unless mandatory evacs "excuse" me from my job, but if it heads north, I'm not sure I can evac Savannah, get to Charleston (which will probably be in its own evac stage) pack and get out in time.
On the other hand, I have no other family here to evac to in this area. I'm not sure I want to trust all of my valuables to a car in a hotel parking lot for a storm that may or may not hit...
Thoughts?
What would you do???
