We had no power for almost a next week, my business had to be closed due to lack of power for ten days (I lost a *LOT* of money), and getting gas was next to impossible for that week. Now I'm in the crosshairs just like you. I am surrounded by large trees (the ones that are left anyway). We don't need this storm!!
If I were to move, I think it will be somewhere like Colorado. I love snow and snow skiing (just don't like driving to work on ice). I prefer the mountains and cold weather to the beach and constant, oppressive, debilitatingly humid heat! And I haven't seen any Hurricanes approaching the borders of Colorado recently!
You haven't seen the "Day after Tomorrow"? Come up to my place in Lakeland. Not sure it will be much safer....
