gfdl usually good on majors, but this is an exception, because its been bias to the right of all the models throughout history of this storm.

On a personal note, I just got back to having electic, not cooking on the grill, or bathing in a nasty pool. Forget the mosquitos and total lack of air flow at night!! I have had enough

I'm beginning to wonder if more of the models will start showong a response to the new high that has been forming over Florida?

A leftward turn would be hard to forecast but almost inevitable if there is a high pressure system blocking the route to the north.

There is always the option of moving somewhere not so hurricane prone. sorry, but thats the truth and living in such a place as Florida is sitting on a ticking itme bomb. that bomb has exploded this year.

well miami mets on nbc and fox tomight are showing a high coming down from the midwest and bridging with the atlantic high...that would easily cause a hard left or at least a conssitent wnw for days and days

I'm not buying the GFDL past 72 hours. More interesting to me is the fact that the LBAR has shifted north from the previous runs. It's been doing pretty well on this storm, so if this shift is a trand it could be meaningful.

Mainly, I would like to make the point to all that wish for a storm to remember the terrible aftermath!

I'm with you Myersgirl, I am really enjoying electricity, water, phone, and yeah, the internet! We are still cleaning up, and I have had enough.

Woo hoo!! Myersgirl -- go! I'm a over-40 native that thoroughly understands the risk, but wouldn't consider moving.

At least I know I only get this "excitement" for a few months a year, unlike the "ticking time bombs" of California earthquakes, midwest tornadoes, and fires that sweep down mountainsides. An added bonus: we usually get a few days to prepare.

Best of luck to anyone in the path --

I'm with ya. I'm a 4th Gen Floridian, and I'm real close to leaving the state for all of the northerners that have crowded everything up, brought their nasty attitudes, clogged up the roads and ripped up all the trees (this place is hardly recognizable as the one I grew up in).

I have two major holes in my roof, I'm getting an inch of water in my kitchen when it rains every day (and that's without any wind .. imagine what a 120mph wind will do to the tarps that are keeping some of the rain out). We had no power for almost a next week, my business had to be closed due to lack of power for ten days (I lost a *LOT* of money), and getting gas was next to impossible for that week. Now I'm in the crosshairs just like you. I am surrounded by large trees (the ones that are left anyway). We don't need this storm!!

If I were to move, I think it will be somewhere like Colorado. I love snow and snow skiing (just don't like driving to work on ice). I prefer the mountains and cold weather to the beach and constant, oppressive, debilitatingly humid heat! And I haven't seen any Hurricanes approaching the borders of Colorado recently!

You haven't seen the "Day after Tomorrow"? Come up to my place in Lakeland. Not sure it will be much safer....
