How will Frances ...

#1 Postby SIMWMBA » Mon Aug 30, 2004 5:39 pm

fare as it encounters the large ULL (@ 23N 76W) ?

On the WV Loop http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT/watl-wv-loop.html the ULL appears quite vigorous and about stationary over the Bahamas while Frances seems to be narrowing the gap.

The current forecasts call for continued intensification, I just wonder how that could happen in the face of the southerly shear around the east side of the ULL. Is the ULL expected to weaken that rapidly or move out of the way without impacting the strength of Frances?

I'm curious what the experts are thinking on this ...
