W GOM.......Homebrew...AccuWeather

#1 Postby KatDaddy » Mon Aug 30, 2004 7:07 am

The general AccuWeather tropic update indicates possible W GOM homebrew. I wonder what Joe B will say.

Accu-weather:

The western gulf will be watched for possible home grown development. Another strong wave coming off the African coast may become the next storm as it comes west the next 5 days.

Also our local Channel 2 Met in Houston indicated this possibilty. with what we have seen this year everything needs to be watched for the next several weeks.

I heard that last night too. Imagine, with all the action out there and something could pop up in our backyard!

Due to the numerous storms expected to be moving down into and/or developing over the GOM over the next few days from the front that passed through here this weekend there is a possibility of something developing from the "mess" if the right "trigger" comes across to consolidate and/or set it all off. That is how I read what was said on Ch. 2 last night. To say the very least water temps are hot enough and if there is a pressure drop??? we will see. I certainly will be watching.

This definitely has my interest as the showers there have been consistent.

It's also been a consistently gray day.

He seemed to indicate yesterday 6-8 days (after Frances - didn't say after Frances' landfall or whatever) but also watching toward the end of the week and depending on how far east Frances's path was (he's liked an NC or farther north position since Friday or so).

^Skywatch, there's a tropical system off Cape Verde that might become Ivan. :)
