I feel will leave an open door for a Northward turn over Central Bahamas.

UHHHHHHHH..........there is no Ivan. You must be referring to Hermine and they may have an influence on Frances poleward movement down the road

18z GFS actually strengthens ridge behind and south of Hermine/Gaston. Looks to be taking it into the Gulf again. This is still a viable scenario.

Purdue, do you know if the 18z GFS was using the Gulfstream data?

I think it will be assimilated into the 00Z cycle....the plane took off after 18Z so they wouldn't have had data yet.

the models are just as bad as politicians right now...hopefully the GIV will help them not to flip flop on the issues ;-)
