Ivan...

#1 Postby NJCane » Sun Aug 29, 2004 4:27 pm

The next named storm will be the "I" storm which is Ivan. The past 2 years, the I storm has been strong dating back to 1999. Obviously the most notable for the USA was Isabel. The canidate for Ivan this year could be the system that has just emerged off of Africa. Some models develop this pretty well and it appears to hold some promise. So we shall see if we do indeed get Ivan out of that wave and if it indeed becomes powerful like the last few years. Just a little side note while we track the other systems.

Ooh, I forgot about the dreaded I storm. This looks like a candidate for the next storm. Will it form before September starts? It has a circulation already...

wow, this august has been wild. I remember in late July before Alex when it felt like we would have no season. I have a bad feeling about the name Ivan.

I did read somewhere that with Hermine, that was a record for Tropical Storms Developed during August, but I can't confirm where I read that.
