Frances moving west
Frances seems to be moving just north of west for last couple of hours. If this is the turn the NHC has been saying that would happen, it occurred sooner than expected. This could give a more western trend to Frances and threaten the northern islands. Frances could even go a little south of west. Saw one model hint at that. If this is the turn then the Keys could the threatened next week. Then Frances would enter the HOT GOM and begin to consume the very warm gulf water, and God knows what could happen.

Another Allen or Gilbert? Maybe. Big canes create their own environment and seem to trend west. At least Allen and Gilbert did. When I refer to big, i mean not just wind speeds but the overall size of the storm. Frances looks to be on that big track.btsgmdad wrote:If Frances makes it into the gulf it could be the monster of all monsters. Reminds me once again why I don't like
