Udate from Derby, England
Hi all
A cloudy day Today with light rain and drizzle off and on!
Here in England spring is just around the corner, but because the weather
is very changeable and fluctuations in temperature, the only indication of
spring is in the plants starting to bloom!
Usually in the UK we have a saying about the transition from winter to
summer, which is " never cast a doubt until may is out " which does bare
some truth more than occasionally!!
Current temps: 10C ( 50F )
Pressure: 1011mb
Wind: Southwesterly
1413 noaa 16 pass

Hi breeze, and all
Spring is still hanging on here, but there may well
be a temporary blip in these conditions over the next 2 days,
as we have the chance of some light rain showing up, then
back to settled conditions again.
I have the feeling this may be a dry summer coming up,
but hope I have not spoken to soon because this British
weather as a bad habit of making fools out of the best
forcasters!
Current temps: 5C ( 40F )
Wind: Calm
Pressure: 1026mb

Hi Breeze
A lot of people have been commenting on how long
the dry and settled conditions have lasted,
this may be due to the slight cooling of the northern
atlantic, and that very cold artic airmass which kept
feeding out of Canada and the North Eastern States
through the winter, so whether that was any el nino event
we may never no, but I believe the artic airmasses
have played a part in giving the UK a rather dry and
settled march!
The British weather is so very changeable from day to
day, an el nino event would probably go unoticed here!
bye for now

Al, it was sunny here, today, but windy! (Not complaining
about the wind, mind you!)
What's the weather been there, today?
My boss was telling us how the weather was, in England.
LoL, he said that he and a few pals could watch a movie,
and, if it had blue, sunny skies, they said, "That movie wasn't
made here!" How often are the skies blue and
sunny, where you are?

Hi Ya Breeze
For the first time in nearly three weeks, Derbyshire, and
most of England woke up to wet conditions, which caught
non weather watchers out, ( not unusual ) but it brightened up
later though, with a chilly wind!
Breeze, your boss is right, blue sunny skies are not made in
England, more like grey rainy ones, because we are the wrong
side of the atlantic, called "The gulf stream conveyor belt of gloom"
Best Regards

Hi all
Well Springtime has certainly dissappeared for the time being,
it is a very showery and unsettled period at the moment, the only
plus is that the temperatures are around what they should be for
this time of year.
Maybe as we head towards the end of the month, there could be
an improvement with a short period of settled and slightly warmer
conditions, but this is someway of yet!

Pressure: 1010mb
Wind: SouthWesterly

Hi all
Well it certainly is a dissapointing summer day today, thoroughly
miserable with persistent rain, but there are signs of an improvement
towards evening time, but the remainder of the week looks still a
little unsettled, with just a sign of drier weather at the beginning of
next week!
A low pressure system out to the west of the UK is pushing a broad
band of rain northwards through the country, with brighter but
showery conditions moving in behind!
Current Temps: 17C ( 65F )
Pressure: 1002mb
Wind: Calm
1300pm NOAA 16 Pass

Hi all
Summer as well and truly arrived in England this weekend,
today is a sunny one, with pleasant breezes and comfortable
temperatures, but those temperatures are going to start
climbing tomorrow, maybe reaching 80F in more southern parts
and even 85F by Monday.
Also, the humidty levels are set to soar, so it will probably be
feeling rather uncomfortable by Monday next week.
By the middle of next week there will be a cool down from this mini
heatwave and a return to more unsettled conditions from the Atlantic!!
Current Temps: 22C ( 72F )
Pressure: 1023mb
Wind: South Westerly
NOAA 17 pass 1142am
