As of the 5:00 PM Eastern Time advisory on Hurricane Frances, the center of the storm was approximately 2,080 miles ESE of Miami,
Florida. This location is also 2,240 miles ESE of my location.
I will be more than happy to calculate the distances of other locations, which of course doesn't necessarily have to be your location.

You're welcome Jeromy. Absolutely right, this should be an important part of the monitoring of Hurricane Frances.
I believe Dave thinks that those that are interested should figure it out themselves using the link he provided above. Using my Streets & Maps program as part of my participation in the board is a great tool for discussion of the storm and future storms.
I do indeed thank you for the site, Dave. I know these 'calculators' exist.
