Question???

If this a true cat 5 storm making landfall directly east of Tampa and came straight across, what Kind of winds would Tampa on the far west coast feel? Just wondering what to expect worst case senario. Thanks!

Cat 2 - That is about the widest part of the peninsula so the most weakening could occure if it were moving due west.

also depends on the forward speed of the storm...faster it moves across land the stronger the winds will be...the slower the weaker the winds will be but then you have a very dangerous rain event
