What's Bryan Norcross in Miami saying about Frances?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I was just watching Bryan and he was just in line with the thinking of the NHC. He did mention that by next Wednesday we should start getting a better idea were this storm is going. He seem somewhat concerned and a little relucated to say to much.

You know its gonna be bad if mets who have long time experience in hurricanes are very concerned, or maybe scared and are afraid to show it

I noticed that tension too in the local met from Orlando. All I can say is, there will be thousands of extra people beachside for Labor Day weekend. That complicates evacuations and clogs roads out.

When I was younger, I used to think this tracking and -removed- was fun. I am older wiser and a lot more respectful of mother nature now, and if ever I wished for a fish, this would be the one...

At least with the damage done by Charley and the "warning shot" of Charley for Brevard County, nobody in my corner of Central Florida will be taking Frances for granted. Fortunately, there should be plenty of advance warning with Frances, unlike a hurricane which brews up in a short time and makes a beeline for the coast!

I hope Charley in fact did teach everyone not to stick around for a Cat. 4.

Labor Day weekend... probably why they don't want to say a whole lot until they have more data.

All local weather meteorologists and forecasters should agree with the National Hurricane Center. I wouldn't say putting their own opinions.

This is at least one good reason why we should know which meteorologists we are watching are professional or amatuer.

It looks like a storm worth getting worried about. If it continues on the southern side of the forecast, it stays over very warm waters and along with great outflow, could build rapidly at any time.

The best hope for now is that it developes rapidly enough and slows enough that eyewall reconstruction and upwelling are already occurring before landfall.
