Two new TD's this weekend? 1130 TWO is out

#1 Postby OtherHD » Fri Aug 27, 2004 10:35 am

A WELL-DEFINED LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CENTERED ABOUT 240 MILES SOUTH OF
BERMUDA IS DRIFTING SLOWLY SOUTHWARD. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
HAVE INCREASED AND BECOME BETTER ORGANIZED TODAY...AND UPPER-LEVEL
WINDS HAVE ALSO BECOME MORE FAVORABLE FOR A TROPICAL DEPRESSION TO
FORM DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.

ANOTHER LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OFF THE COAST OF SOUTH CAROLINA...
CENTERED ABOUT 115 MILES SOUTHEAST OF CHARLESTON...IS DRIFTING
SLOWLY SOUTHEASTWARD. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAVE ALSO
INCREASED AND BECOME BETTER ORGANIZED WITH THIS SYSTEM...AND A
TROPICAL DEPRESSION COULD DEVELOP DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO BEFORE
THE SYSTEM TURNS WESTWARD TOWARD THE U.S. COAST.

So if the 1 closer to the coast becomes a storm before landfall.. it could cause a little bit of rain and wind..

Shouldn't be too threatening imo.. the 1st 1 should also swim with the fish

This scenario is shaping up to be somewhat like Isabel, with the system tracking near a former system (Henri in Isabels case)

Will this cut the lead down to 2?? Not only that, will the system off SC be the stage-setter for Frances?! I sure hope so. Stay tuned :D

I only predicted 3 majors(2 is the average). We're going to have 3 most likely before this day is over and September isn't here yet.

But in the end, what will be resultant movement for Frances?? Will these depressions move out fairly quickly or hang around allowing Frances to slip northward by causing weaknesses in the ridge :?: They could be done with by Sunday/Monday and could cause the ridge to restrengthen with more vigor....many questions.... As the AFDs say....stay tuned!!

that slowing moving system off Charleston could be a heavy rain producer for all of South Carolina from the coast back to the upstate and into North Carolina.
