I say for the time being FL, but it's a toss up between FL and the GOM or both respectively.

I have said Florida.

Although a strike on the Carolinas would not suprise me either.

IF Frances hits the east coast what will it do afterwards??

Will it head in land or will it take the same route as others have doen by going upto Canada and then taking the Jet stream across the pond to the U.K????????

I choose Florida/GOM only because Florida sticks out like a sore thumb and if it gains more latitude and moves more westerley towards the Islands it could clip the Keys and move into the Gulf. This is only my opinion. Cindy

I say Florida.. not -removed-.. but in slight fear after Charley and because a 2nd 1 may actually be the 1 that teaches the lesson to those who didn't prepare for Charley

If the ridge of high pressure holds, then Florida gets nailed for sure.
If the ridge starts slipping, then it will come up the coast like Floyd did.
So I voted for NC.

To answer the other question, like Floyd, I'd suspect that if Frances comes ashore in Wilmington, it'd travel north a bit, then exit over New Jersey and over towards Long Island.

I say southern 1/3 of florida then gulf but it could easilly miss florida all together and head for the carolinas.... I still think areas north of Palm Beach in Florida as well as Georgia have nothing to worry about.

Hope you're right Jekye.. But if Frances grows in size.. then she could be a problem for us.. even if she makes landfall in South Florida

I think Florida  takes a hit with a track that might be similar to Hurricane Donna of 1960 (espeacially if the highs build stronger than forcast)  . Thoughts and comments welcomed.
