How believable is the 9 day (216 hour) GFS? If it's any good then I may be getting the remnants of a tropical system the end of next week...

It's been showing this feature consistently now (since it was way back at about day 12-13 or so). So it may be on to something...

During the 0-7 day period, the GFS performs poorly after that it's not worth looking at.

That's the 384 hour version. About as unbelievable as a certain person who we should all know about...

On the 500mb chart, what does the legend mean, i.e. the colors and associated numbers on the left?

Thanks
