One of the historical tracks to TD6's location is none other than

based on those tracks, that's why I say it could have one of those wavey tracks, but if you notice the 50-60 long line is where they seem to split in tracks

I was wondering the same thing about an Andrew-like track. Does it look possible? I hope not...

Florida has already had their hurricane this year. Hopefully if it hits the U.S, it doesn't hit them.

there's more to Florida than the peninsula. Not that I'm asking for a storm to hit the panhandle. People often forget about us up here.

The odds of a repeat of Andrew is virtually none.

That's not to say a hurricane can't hit Florida from the east though.

Emotionally, I don't think the areas affected by Charley could handle another Hurricane anywhere near here. I am praying for a fish. I know I can't handle it. I still need to get my roof and all of my flooring (flood) replaced.

Hey mike, please don't wish that thing on JAX. We had our scare for the year. Don't really want to see how ugly things would be up here. Alot of people here think they are in a hurricane safe area since it's been so long since we have been hit. And we already showed that to evacuate northeast FL is a nightmare at best.

I too hope it does not go for Florida - I hear some people are not coping too well but that is to be expected after something like Charley! Interesting chart there however. I assume this thing will hug the southern edge of the high then?

Brent please explain your reasoning for stating the odds are virtually none (although I hope you are correct). I don't know enough to figure it out on my own to decide whether I agree with you or not. Thanks!

none?

#18 Postby Patrick99 » Wed Aug 25, 2004 3:52 pm

I wouldn't say the odds of a repeat of Andrew are none. S. FL has been hit by strong storms from the east, southeast, many times. Average it out over history, and it ain't all that rare.

mother nature does not listen to 'odds' or care about 'history'. Anything can happen pretty much anywhere at anytime. That is one thing that bothers me most, when people say never. never say never.

What I meant is a storm similar to Andrew(track and intensity) is almost none.
