Recon to fly into Estelle

#1 Postby cycloneye » Sat Aug 21, 2004 5:37 pm

II. PACIFIC REQUIREMENTS
1. TROPICAL STORM ESTELLE
FLIGHT ONE
A. 23/1200Z, 23/1800Z
B. AFXXX 0107E ESTELLE
C. 23/0900Z
D. 17.3N 148.0W
E. 23/1030Z TO 23/1830Z
F. SFC TO 10,000 FT.
2. SUCCEEDING DAY OUTLOOK: CONTINUE 6-HRLY FIXES ON TS ESTELLE.

It is not very common to see missions in the central pacific as that basin is the most quiet of all the basins in the world. But this time as Estelle draws closer to Hilo they will fly into the system on monday morning.

They may not find too much if the current trend as seen on satellite continues with the LLCC becoming exposed in the SE Quad.

The name Estelle reminds me of some 100-year-old lady.

That's true, Brent... Estelle was popular female name back in the earlier part of the 1900's.

Remember Estelle Getty from the "Golden Girls"?
