Storm2K Tropical Update

***Corrected...changed east to west in first sentance***
A large tropical wave is located to the west of the eastern Africian Coast. Although QUIKSCAT imagery from earlier this afternoon suggests that no closed circulation exists...the wave has an impressive mositure and broad circulation envelope. Global models insist that this system will become a tropical depression or tropical storm in the next day or two. Considering that there is no well-established circulation...the transition to a tropical cyclone could take 48 hours or longer.
Another disorganized tropical wave is located in the central Caribbean Sea. Convective activity in association with this wave has diminished considerably this evening...however...should thunderstorm avtivity pulse up again overnight...this system could have a chance at development in a couple of days once it reaches the weatern Caribbean sea...and upper winds become more favorable for development.
Elsewhere...tropical storm development is not expected through Monday.
