Yeah, quit picking on the poor old lady! So she believes in UFO's and visions and new agey stuff. Is that so different from the president saying in public speeches that god sends him messages from heaven telling him to smash countries?

She also did actually live through Andrew. So she might actually know a bit about her own personal experiences with it, even if some of the details in her story aren't quite accurate. On her own website at :
http://www.whereheavensmeet.com/
I didn't see anything there about 300 plus mph winds. She says low 200's, which they did have unofficial readings that high. It was in all the local papers. The hurricane center afterward analyzed those models of anemometer under high winds to get a handle on how strong Andrew really was.

I knew a lady who lived through Andrew's eye wall. A different one. Worked with her. Tough little thing. She worked with alligators and crocks in the glades. She was quite happy to tell us about Andrew up to the point where the roof came off the house she was in. It was too painful for her to say anything about after that. She just plain wouldn't talk about it. She also wouldn't discuss the aftermath too much, only to say that yes there were looters. Seeing the look on her face, I quit asking questions about it. That convinced me that Andrew was way way bad, much worse than on the TV.

I also saw what south Dade looked like about 4 or 5 days after Andrew. I was thinking Hiroshima too, just like old k. t. Yes plenty of people did survive it. Humans are tough critters. There were survivors sitting in front of their roofless, walless houses talking on the phone. It was surreal. I heard reports on the local radio station hours after it hit where some guy claimed to be a paramedic who had just pulled 12 or 18 or whatever bodies out of one mobile home park in a few hours. That when the official death toll was like 8 a few days later. Now, maybe that was someone's sick idea of humor, but then again maybe not. Maybe those reports of stacks of bodies guarded by deputies after Charles were a joke too. Or maybe two bodies is someone's idea of a stack. Maybe not.

We do have a government that seems to think why tell the truth when a lie will do just as well. Remember those tons of WMD's in Iraq, the ones they knew where they were, had satellite photos of them and all? And the media is lazy. It's so much easier to repeat the other guy or an official press release than scramble through wreckage. Channel 10 has had their live reporter one the same street corner for two nights now. They keep showing the same footage over and over. Now they seem to be switching to fuzzy feelgood stories about the massive relief effort, or how generous locals are helping the victims of Charlie.

So don't be so harsh on the poor old UFO lady. She can tell her story too.
