Any reports from NC??
If you guys have any reports from NC, we'd love to hear 'em! Looks like a mostly rain event for us, thank goodness... But lots of rain... showing over 10 inch storm totals already south of Jacksonville, NC...

I watching the local news here, so far a few building have lost roofs in the Wilmington area, there is an area of rotation due south of me (potential tornado!) Some power loss in Wilmington. I'll update, it seems the main storm in knocking at my door now, big thunder outside now.

I am located just a few miles NW of I95/I40 junction and so far it has been mostly rain. We are now hearing some thunder, rain has picked up and it is rather breezy with bouts of stronger winds and rain. But so far so good. You know what was was eery, during our morning coffee at 6am or so my husband and I noticed how calm and quiet it was outside. No birds chirping, no dogs barking. Animals just have a sense that something is going on. When we go out on our screened in porch, all we mostly hear is a slight roar or howl off at a distance. Maybe the winds futher away or winds way up above us (we have been hearing it most of the day).

Its been calm and silent the past 2 days here, but luckily i believe its gonna be all for nothing. A breeze here and there, and a lil rain, but we're too far off from the coast for anything really. Down in Wilmington, around Wrightsville Beach got hit with sustained winds around 60-70 for about 2 hours today though

Been waiting all day and the worst of the storm is about half-hour from me now. Rain and wind's picked up a little, nothing to write home about as yet. Supposed to get rough in a bit.
So far, it's the easiest storm yet (of several hurricanes we've been through). Isabel's eye came right over us so it might be hard to compare with this just being a tropical storm now. The center of the storm is expected to cross directly over us as well. We're expecting winds 40 - 60, maybe some gusts to 70.

I apologize. A couple of the storm damage incidents i listed above were from the 12th! I am fool for this! Anyway, there are some new reports from New Bern with winds around 58 mph confirming what NCBird said. Hope you keep power there!... I doubt Charley weakens much more and these wind reports and downed trees will continue up the coast.

Eye has just passed over my area: Ayden. Wind was blowing right in my front door an hour ago, then a period of calm, now the wind is blowing directly from the opposite side of the house, away from the front door. Wind not very strong here perhaps reached 40 mph, there are a few tree limbs down in my yard, but nothing compared to Isabel, Floyd, Fran, or Bertha (or even Bonnie of 6 years ago, not yesterday.) Of course, all the weak limbs could have been culled from my yard from the previously mentioned storm. It has rained at least 3-4 inches here, and it continues to rain torrentially.
Tornados are in the area, WNCT-9 reporting circular cells with VIPIR radar moving from Winterville through Greenville. Tornado warning for Swan Quarter.
Wow, wind just hit here again. One tree top just broke off in my yard.
Woman on TV reporting small creek near Kinston flooding, her dog house floated away. Flash Flooding reported in Greenville.
As a side note: It's my 1st anniversairy with Storm2K and I get to celebrate with a TS!
