I have a question about last night when the hurricane came through Orlando we were getting most of the winds from the north not the south which thats where the storm was coming from kinda confused about it and from what I am seeing I wasn't the only one either boarding up others were also boarded up windows on the south side of there houses to. But learned after it started that the north side took the blunt of the winds.
So my question since the storm came from the south and move to the Ne of us (thank God )how come the winds were from the north?
Sorry for the crazy question just learning as I go here?

Funny that you noticed that, we did, too. Did you get to see that tornado that came over Ocoee? Wasn't even complete, but it was still beautiful. Sky was so dark, almost black. There was a thin white ribbon of clouds stretching out horizontally. When I stepped around the tree blocking my view, I saw a perfect inverted triangle, bright white against the black backdrop of clouds. All I wanted to do was stand there and watch to see what would happen next, but I think I set a new land speed record getting into my closet.

if you drew a line from pt charlotte to orlando to daytona , anything east of that took the brunt of the storm, example mco airport had a 105 mph gust.which is basically south of I-4 and thd Disney area by 10 miles or so. Not saying nw eye wall did not hit where you did and that's what it sounds like with a north wind, but if your were a little futher sw in polk county or even futher, when it was even stronger, you would have had major damage.

Hey eyes2theskies i did see it coming that's when i knew we were in for some wicked weather. From what i am understanding that's the way tornado's are here is there up there but most of the time they don't touch down . I also seen the white thin clouds you were talking about crazy me trying to get a picture never seen anything like that.
