That one actually shows the pressure has dropped 988mb.

So 994 mbs at 5am now 988 mbs at 7:53am

Yep ... however, that 988 mb pressure is more typical of a CAT 1 hurricane ... (environmental pressures are running a little higher, which is why the central pressure wasn't even lower when Charley hit SW Florida yesterday - 941 mb)

Just hoping it doesn't strengthen too much before it hits. Parts of NC had pretty good winds less then 2 weeks ago from the last hurricane plus there were parts of the county I work in that were underwater yesterday just from Bonnie. Can't believe how resilient and destructive this storm has been. If you watch the path its amazing how it kept dodging around and taking the path of least resistance.

Well around here nobody seems to be worried! Just went out and yard furniture, tables with umbrellas, etc. still in peoples' yards. I don't see the center of the storm hitting SC. Watching the loops IR, Radar, WV, it seems to be headed more towards Brunswick county. I think DT might be closer on his call of a ILM hit.

Sure hope the recon supp start coming in a little faster now.

No SC landfall?? The storm made landfall just north of McClellanville about 10 minutes ago.
