I just got power back and by default, internet access so excuse me if anyone has posted on Western Polk County.

I heeded the reccomendations of Polk Emergency Management and took the family from our mobile home to my parents. We were fortunate that Charley stayed East of us but for a period of about an hour to an hour and a half there was strong wind and heavy rain. I estimated that wind was sustained at 20 to 30 mph with gust above 40. We lost power from about 7 until 11pm. I will have more of an idea of damage, once the sun comes up.

On a lighter note, my wife informed me that authorities are telling people not to drive around as it may be unsafe with downed power lines and tree damage. She thus informed me that she was again right, and I was an idiot to drive around looking at damage this evening. She is always right! Love you honey.

The posts or stuff said are NOT an official forecast and my opinion alone. Please look to the NHC and NWS for official forecasts and products.

TCVN is a weighted averaged

Opinions my own.

She's right! Not to mention downed trees and power lines, you run the risk of flattening your tires if you run over boards (which would most likely have nails since they most likely would have come from homes and buildings).

Don't go driving! :)
