Orlando airport had a gust to 83 mph not too long before that. Really looked bad there for a while. :eek: Hope everyone pulls through!

Unfortunately seeing a lot of reports of numerous injuries, and a hospital in Punta Gorda admitting a lot of casualties there ... NOT GOOD NEWS at all ...

SF, I'm headed to Myrtle Beach tommorow, I heard they evacuated MBX. Do you expect the storm to pass close to here? I hope my hotel is ready for me Sunday..but I agree, dangerous situation out there.

all the hospitals in Punta Gorda are destroyed and inoperable...

Georgetown and Horry County South of U.S. Hwy 17 have been mandatorily evacuated ... Once Charley passes off to the north, conditions will rapidly improve ... but the main thoroughfare, U.S. HWY 501 was reversed on the SE for 4 land traffic OUT of Myrtle Beach ...

I thought it was the hospitals in Port Charlotte not Punta Gorda?
