Poor site performace
Guys I know that this is due to the massive amounts of hits that you have right now - but I would take issue with your ISP - this is not a time for site to got slow;/timeout..

I believe chad said they had over 9million hits already today... Considering the demand I think they are holding up well... also remember this is privately funded. They are NOT making any money off of this and are paying for the bandwidth/usage. THey provide this information for free without ads. I think they are doing a supurb job!

S2K is doing wonderful. They have had the most comprehensive Charley coverage -- period.

Come up with a system to handle 9 million hits, which was the server total at around 2PM today for today only, then let me know what you come up with.
This site has performed substantially better than many "official" sites. I realize you're frustrated...but they are doing a very good job here.

This is the type of situation where a Pay for Service site like WeatherTap has an advantage since I've had no problems getting radar, satellite and observations from there in an timely manner (or at least as timely as one can get in a storm since some of the sites are down and Punta Gorda seems to have lost its wind sensor)

I'm new to this site - just joined this morning at 5:00 while waiting for word on Charley. I think this site is great! Considering the number of hits they have had the speed is better than expected. Much better than AccuTrak or other weather sites. Great info for novice and expert alike. Thanks guys!!!!!

In situations like this one should be very grateful to have a site as "all-encompassing" as this one. We did great in handling the number of hits and will continue to do so. As has been said above, this site handled the traffic much better than any of the others. There were menay people coming here lookig for all that we have to offer and I, for one, am glad we were able to help many of them find what they were looking for.

I share this attitude (and your last name BTW). Besides, if the site didn't bog down a little; who'd want to come here?
