Fool money grubbers haven't even shut theme parks down yet.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Brilliant idea to even consider putting thousands of tourists as well as employees in jeapordy and in a position where they might have to leave in a hurry ALL AT ONCE, and get stuck on clogged highways with other "refugees"...Hopefully people are smart enough to stay home or at their hotels, but you know there will be those who won't and will take advantage of smaller crowds(some ironically will be parents with their kids who are off from school for the day). Hopefully the clods in charge will reassess and close for the day.
America, we're all about "the buck".....

Insane. Just shows how greedy these people are. Chad and many of our friends have to report to work today. Given the mass evacuations, traffic is going to be h@ll. I'm very upset that Chad had to go to work today. Thank God we prepared early, but what if we hadn't? I feel bad for the families that won't get time to prepare because their bosses are creeps!

I worked there for a bit long ago--in a severe weather-type emergency, the plan was to shove all the people into the underground tunnels lying below the Magic Kingdom. Brilliant. Except not.

What is more insane? The fact the parks haven't closed, or there may be idiots planning on going to the parks. Got to love greed!

The real sad thing about this is many of the Tourist have no idea what a hurricane is about and will figure it is safe because the parks have stayed open.. and surely if they were in danger they would close.

Reminds me of something that happened while I was working for a resort.... a family came to check in and we gave them flashlights and told then they would probably loose electric and they should go to their unit and stay inside to stay safe as things were expected to get much more nasty as the hurricane moved closer. The man told me ... "oh no worries.. the hurricane is gone. I herd on the radio that it has just made landfall." Needless to say a short while later the family was sitting in their resort unit in the dark, with winds blowing, tree falling, and the waters rising around them. These people really thought that when it made landfall poof it was over.

They're shutting down the disney theme parks at 1 pm. That's when the first bands of this system will affect the Orlando/Lake Buena Vista area. This situation is very dangerous and I don't expect many tourists there today. But I'd feel safer at Disney World than say Tampa Bay and Clearwater.

I thought disneyland was a magical kingdom, safe from all evils of the world--even cat3 hurricanes?

The MK itself might be safe, but no one in their GOOFY mind would try to ride out the storm there. :)

And for the record, DisneyLAND is 100% safe from Charley. It's in California.
