TD#4 is almost official ...

#1 Postby Hyperstorm » Fri Aug 13, 2004 3:38 am

Latest visible images indicate that the tropical wave in the E. Atlantic (94L) has developed a SURFACE circulation and is located near 13N 21W. It is moving toward the West about 15-20mph. Convection exploded overnight leaving a partially exposed center on its NE side. Development into a tropical depression seems likely today. In fact, it already is a depression "unofficially" with 30mph winds.

The tropical wave several hundred miles to the east of the Lesser Antilles (95L) is also organizing, but any further development should be slower than 94L due to strong southerly shear a few hundred miles to the west of it.

Active, active times...

A no-brainer that this one would become TD4. It was quite obvious almost 24 hours ago. :)

Exactly, I said it yesterday, but I'm making the almost official call now. The only thing that was missing was a SURFACE circulation and an intense blowup of convection, which all happened during the night.
