One thing which MIGHT keep intensification from being explosive...is the outflow to the south of the system, which is quickly approaching. If the system doesn't move as quickly as forecast initally, it might impinge on its southern CDO, thus slowing intensification.
In ANY case, we should have a Cat. 3 hurricane today...
